Questions worth asking before you hire anyone
- Are you a licensed Florida mold assessor or mold remediator? Ask for the license number and check it yourself at MyFloridaLicense.com before work starts.
- Is the person quoting the removal the same one who did the assessment? Florida law does not allow the same company to do both an assessment and remediation on the same property within 12 months, so an independent assessor is normal and expected. - Is the estimate in writing, and does it explain the scope of work? A written scope protects both sides if there is a disagreement later.
- Will they address the moisture source, not just the visible mold? Removing mold without fixing the leak, humidity or ventilation problem behind it usually means it comes back.
